Talent Buyers/Casting Directors
The CalModeling Difference
There are many online websites where hopeful models can list themselves, usually for a large fee. However, as any casting director or talent buyer knows, these websites are often of limited utility, since generally, almost all applicants willing to pay the fee are accepted, and therefore, the majority of models are not appropriate candidates for professional modeling.
CalModeling does not charge any fees to its models (other than a small percentage of work acquired thorugh CalModeling) and therefore must be financially viable through the agency fees it collects. Therefore, we do not accept a model unless we honestly believe the model shows genuine potential and there is a reasonable chance we can place that model into paying opportunities. We accept only a very small percentage of those who apply. As a result of our selectivity, the models in our portfolio are far more likely to meet your needs.
Our Talent Pool
CalModeling offers a refined selection of fresh faced, attractive young men, aged 18-25 years old. The majority of our models
are recruited by our network of scouts throughout the US and Canada, but a few are accepted through unsolicited applications. The majority of our models are
relatively inexperienced and may require training and practice if specific skills or movement abilities are required. All are
eager to be given opportunities that will allow them to develop their careers.
Location
Though we are based in California, our models reside throughout the U.S. and Canada. Some are able to travel and are not restricted in their
schedules, while a number of others are either employed or are in college or high schoo and travel may be difficult. The talent buyer must cover
transportation, housing, and perdiem costs for shoots that are not local to the model's location.
Requirements for Talent Buyers
CalModeling restricts access to our model portfolio to recognized casting directors, ad agencies, art directors, and some professional photographers. In order to gain access to our model portfolio, you must email tb at calmodeling dot com to request a Talent Buyer Application. Generally, we will require the following before
granting you access to our talent pool:
- Business License or Proof of Business Ownership
- If a freelance photographer or professional, a recent client list with contact information
- A description of the kinds of positions and opportunities for which models will be sought
- An acceptable D&B rating or prepayment of contraacted price until credit established.
CalModeling generally does not work with freelancers unless they can demonstrate an established track record of successfully
working in the industry. We are not accepting talent buyers or photographers who are seeking models for nude modeling or for
the adult industry.
All talent buyers acquiring models through CalModeling must read, agree to, and sign our Professionalism and Acceptable Hiring
Practices policy before any services will be provided by CalModeling or any of its models. Violation of our Professionalism and
Acceptable Hiring Practices will result in immediate termination of our working relationship, cancellation of any future
bookings, and liability to CalModeling and to its models for any shoots that were scheduled but were not completed due to any
violationsof our policy. Egregious cases will result in civil penalties and, if appropriate, the filing of criminal warrants.
Billing and Payment:
CalModeling will handle all billing and payment for work between Talent Buyers and our contracted model. Invoices are mailed at
the time an opportunity is accepted by the model, and payment must be received (or apprpriate credit arrangements made) prior to
the scheduled photo shoot. Failure to do so will make Talent Buyer liable for the value of the scheduled shoot and any actual
losses suffered by CalModeling.
